He one of the creator of Miss Moneypenny’s and Chuff Chuff internationally acknowledge legendary clubbing brands, as well as the start-up of many new branding projects in both music and fashion business.
This pioneering spirit has seen him tour the world as well as hold down one of the longest residencies in Ibiza, Miss Moneypenny’s legendary residency from 1995 to 2010 in Pacha and El Divino..
Jim has released 21 compilation albums his most recent, on itunes ‘Modern Balearic’. He has produced and remixed under a number of alias including Groove Allegiance and JSR his most recent production project Zoned Out his remixes have steered the likes of Beyone, Michael Buble, Lady Ga Ga, Solange Knowles and Yoko Ono on to the Dancefloor, all receiving critical acclaim.
He has hosted a weekly radio show in the UK, Ibiza, Spain, US, Australia, New Zealand and Bulgaria. The show was compiled produced and presented by Jim allowing him to explore and break the music he loves.
Not content with this incredible CV, Jim embarked on relaunching the Miss Moneypenny’s brand by curating the Miss Moneypenny’s Prom with Birmingham Gay Symphony Orchestra at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall in November to immense critical acclaim. A relaunch of Miss Moneypenny’s in Ibiza with events in Ocean Beach and Café del Mar with Jim headlining as well as a new Miss Moneypenny’s classic compilation.
Jim has also been one of the driving forces behind Celestial Recordings since its inception in June 2010 it has released a single every week, released fifteen compilations and has had tracks licensed to Hed Kandi and Roger Sanchez’s ‘Release Yourself’ summer compilations.
He has recently completed writing a musical. ‘Ibiza the Musical’ a love story based on his experiences working on the White Island for fifteen years using many of dance music’s biggest records to drive the narrative. Jim is in discussions with the theatre world to bring the production to stage.
His writing skills are not exclusive to musical theatre, being commissioned to write for lifestyle and dance music magazines. He is also in the process of finishing his first anthology of poetry to be published at the end of 2017.
Jim’s fashion interests include being one of the partners of the up and coming menswear brand Hunter & Nelson.
As a DJ Jim Shaft Ryan will always engage with the Dancefloor through his passion for House music’s uplifting positive dance floor message either in the form of modern or classic house music. Jim is happy to deliver his inspirational sound in digital or vinyl formats.
Jim can tour individually or with dancers, saxophonist and percussionist in accompaniment. This remarkable journey has led to Jim being sought after to share his experience and expertise on radio, TV, blogs, magazine, educational establishments and public speaking events.
