Introducing Seb Fontaine

One of the most respected DJs to ever grace a set of decks

Through his high profile and long-standing residencies, radio shows and compilation CDs, Seb has been at the forefront of the scene for many years and continue to showcase his electronic house grooves at high-profile gigs around the world.

Initially playing soul, funk, rare groove and hip-hop, Seb started DJing at venues in West London in the late 1980s. After discovering house music, Seb progressed through a number of high profiles residencies at clubs such as the Hanover Grand, Ministy Of Sound and Cream. With these high profile residencies came the opportunity to work with KISS FM and later Radio One – where he presented a weekly Saturday night show to a worldwide audience. As an elite international DJ, Seb has also released a number of best-selling compilation albums for Global Underground(‘Prototype’), Ministry of Sound, Cream and Positiva.

More recently, Seb Fontaine has hosted Type @ The Cross – a long-standing monthly night that was considered one of London’s best nights during its 8 year tenure. Since the closure of The Cross, Seb has continued to play shows throughout the world and is now as happy playing to the glitterati in Monaco as he is rocking underground dance floors. He is set to continue his residency for Contact @ Amnesia this summer – a club at which he has played regularly throughout the summer months for 10 years – where he appears alongside the likes of Mark Knight, ATFC and Kurd Maverick.

On the production front, Seb has recently hit #1 on the Cool Cuts and Buzz Chart with ‘Need to Feel Loved’ as Reflekt. Originally released on Postiva in 2004 and produced by Seb Fontaine and Julian Peake, ‘Need To Feel Love’ is now setting dance floors alight once more in 2009 with a re-release, featuring remixes from the likes of Adam K & Soha, forthcoming very soon. The original release of this track was a massive international success and featured on the award-winning movie ‘It’s All Gone Pete Tong’ in 2005. Seb continues to run his own Mono-Type label which has released a number of his own productions such as ‘Do The Do’, ‘Gimme More’ and ‘Shine’ – the follow-up to ‘Need To Feel Love’ as Reflekt. Additionally, Seb has recently released remixes on Hussle Recordings and Floorplay while also working on a host of new productions.

Seb Fontaine has been at the pinnacle the dance scene for over 10 years and maintains his status as one of the world’s best DJs. With the continuation of his international DJ schedule and a high-profile gaining massive support and set for release on
